Jacob joins the Grove staff from snowy Michigan. He graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Health Education. He was recognized by the University as the Outstanding Undergraduate in Physical Education in 2007.

He and his wife moved to Connecticut in July 2007 to join the Grove School as Teacher/Counselors. They spent their first married years living in boys and girls dorms and teaching together. In his time at Grove, Jacob has worked as a leader in the Physical Education department and has played an important role in restructuring the P.E. and health education program. Jacob has also served as an Assistant Coach for the Basketball and Baseball teams. He continues to satisfy his love for adventure as a staff member of ASTEE trips, including the Caribbean and El Salvador. Additionally, Jacob has been actively involved in service projects conducted by school Civics classes.

Jacob enjoys helping students reach their maximum potential through esteem-enhancing activities. He also enjoys working together with families and students to help them make positive, practical changes.

Jacob enjoys weight training and playing slow-pitch softball and he follows many other sports including football, baseball, basketball and martial arts. In his free time he also studies Christian theology and creative writing. Other interests include camping, food, travel, comic books, reading, music, nature, and all things related to Michigan. He and his wife live in the Madison community with their young sons and daughter.
