Kathy joined the Grove nursing staff in March of 2016 on a part-time basis working every other week-end. During the week, she works full-time at Yale New Haven Pediatric Specialty clinic. Kathy came to the New England area thirty years ago as a traveling nurse from Louisville, Kentucky. She has always worked with pediatric populations varying in age from the tiniest neonates to adolescents and young adults. As her own sons grew up , she became more interested in teenagers and young adults and the challenges they face in navigating today’s complex world. Her role as a charge nurse in a very busy clinic setting 5 days a week, makes the relaxed, idyllic setting here at Grove a welcome change of pace. Listening non-judgmentally to the students and staff is a skill that comes naturally to Kathy and encourages the building of therapeutic relationships. Kathy believes strongly in the power of being mindful and staying positive in the face of adversity as well as using humor to cope when appropriate. These beliefs and characteristics have been a good match for working here at Grove.
When not working, Kathy enjoys spending time with her husband, sons and Old English sheepdog, Jacie. Running, yoga, reading and spending as much time as possible at the beach provide balance for a busy work life.< Back
