Melissa Iacovacci, LCSW

Admissions Director

203-245-2778 ext:308

Melissa was born and raised in Connecticut. She attended Central CT State University where she earned a BA in Psychology. Melissa then earned her Masters of Social Work (MSW) at Fordham University’s graduate school of social services where she elected a plan of study with a clinical concentration and  family and children’s specialization. On her way to becoming a Licensed Clinical Social worker (LCSW), she interned at a family and children’s agency where she provided 1:1 support to adolescents and at a local alternative high school where she ran groups and participated in PPT meetings.

In addition to holding an LCSW, Melissa is a certified school social worker for the state of Connecticut. She spent the first seven years of her career working as a school social worker at Cooperative Educational Services in Trumbull, where she worked with adolescents on the ASD spectrum and ED students; in Norwalk Public Schools working with children at various schools; and in the Greenwich school system at their alternative high school. At these schools Melissa’s clinical work focused on supporting students with trauma, ADHD, anxiety and depression.

While working in Norwalk, Melissa began working part time as a therapeutic mentor and parent coach for the Vive Family Support Program. The passion she felt for this work led her to transition to full time work at Vive.  Melissa was the regional manager for Vive in the tri-state area. Eventually she became the National Clinical Director of the program. Building on her experience at Vive, Melissa and a colleague developed a remote services program aimed at filling gaps in treatment for children and adolescents. Newport Healthcare hired Melissa to launch and run this program (Continuing Connections) nationally. As part of her responsibilities at Continuing Connections Melissa served as the Admissions Director, developed and implemented clinical protocols, and supervised the staff. She has been with Continuing Connections until joining Grove.

Melissa’s career has focused on building relationships with adolescents, parents and care providers. She is trained in attachment-based family therapy and holds a certificate in DBT skills training. Melissa’s experience brings to the Admissions Office at Grove a therapist that not only understands Grove and the admissions process, but also understands our students, their parents, and how to help adolescents succeed.

Melissa holds a certificate from the integrative nutrition program, enjoys running, attempting to play tennis, skiing, paddle boarding and the beach. She lives with her husband and daughter. If they are not doing these activities together they are likely at Disney World.
