Local Grove School Founds Community Service Club

July 23, 2017

Students at the Grove School in Madison, CT have come together in an effort to aid the community. Students and staff have founded the club “People Helping People,” a club devoted to helping the less fortunate. Our club reaches out to the smaller community of Madison and also to the larger community such as non-profit organizations or charities. In a span of a few months, we have partnered with CT Food Bank and Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter and have also fundraised for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and have raised over $700 for these organizations.

This trimester we are focusing on giving back to our more local community of Grove. We have partnered with Student Council to help sell carnations and The Book Club to help set up a free library box. Students also are working to complete random acts of kindness such as leaving positive notes for staff and students and raising awareness at Grove about larger situations and organizations in which we can help.

People Helping People has also previously met with a representative from the CT Food Bank and set up a virtual food bank that has raised a significant amount of money within our small community. We are looking to enhance our fundraising efforts by sharing our virtual food bank with the larger community. Please consider donating to our cause by visiting the link below:
