Cassi Walker

Cassi joined the Grove community in June 2016 after earning her Master’s degree in Social Studies Education from the University of Connecticut. She began her career at Grove as a Teacher/Counselor, where she quickly discovered the power of enthusiasm and engagement in connecting with students. Cassi discovered that her own enthusiasm was contagious—when she was excited about an activity, the students were excited too, whether it was a spinning trip, a beach outing, a visit to the Book Barn, or a pottery session.

After three years as Teacher/Counselor, Cassi transitioned to Residential Administrator, becoming actively involved in the Activities Committee and spearheading the planning and implementation of community events. In September 2024, Cassi was promoted to Activities Director, a role that combines her love of creativity, student connection, and community spirit.

Cassi’s favorite Grove events include Prom and the Summer Fun Fest. What she values most is watching students step out of their comfort zones, try something new, and thrive. Cassi experienced this firsthand on the Fall 2024 Lake Placid trip, where she faced her fear of heights, and, with the encouragement of her students, (almost!) conquered rock climbing.

Grove has been more than just a workplace for Cassi; it’s been a formative part of her life. Grove is where she met her husband and formed lasting friendships, and she feels incredibly lucky to be part of such a special and supportive community.
