Jackie Plagesse, LMFTA

Jackie Plagesse (she/her) is a licensed Marriage and Family therapist (LMFTA) who obtained her master’s degree from Central Connecticut State University and is a member of the Delta Kappa Honor Society. Jackie loves dedicating her career to providing an empathetic approach that allows individuals to feel seen and heard. Jackie has a passion for supporting individuals to overcome struggles in their life utilizing an integrative and collaborative approach to the therapeutic process. Jackie further notes therapy means something different to each person and therefore the process should be tailored to the individual and their needs.

 

Jackie has a strong background in working with a variety of complex psychiatric challenges including anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, family and relationship issues, divorce, mood disorders, substance related issues, adjustment/transitions, as well as managing life stressors. Additionally, Jackie has worked to therapeutically support individuals in the process of exploring their gender identity and gender expression. Jackie approaches individuals with a Solution-Focused framework and from a strength’s perspective. Jackie utilizes evidenced-based therapies, which include DBT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Internal family Systems Therapy. Jackie’s goal is to help facilitate individuals in building self-confidence through mindfulness, creativity, and effective self-expression.

 

In Jackie’s free time, you can find her chasing sunsets by the ocean, laughing, spending time with her pet bunny Hope, rescuing animals in need, traveling and making memories with her family and friends.
