Miwa Taylor (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, licensed in the state of Connecticut, California, and Florida. She is a Southern California native who has been a mental health provider for the past 8 years. She received her master’s degree in social work with a concentration in Children and Families from California State University, Los Angeles and her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Black Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

She has experience in a school district, family therapy agency, intensive outpatient program, college counseling center, and the state prison system. She has a wide range of experience from managing more intensive interventions in higher level of care facilities to providing individual therapy at a family clinics.

Miwa builds rapport with her warm and empathetic approach as she builds upon the strengths of those she is working with. She integrates Cognitive-Behavioral interventions, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Art Therapy, and mindfulness in her practice. Miwa helps clients process trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem, grief and loss, multi-racial identities, spirituality, and life in recovery. She uses care and compassion to provide a safe space for her clients. Miwa provides a variety of techniques specific to each client’s unique mental health struggles. She has genuinely enjoyed serving clients of diverse and minority backgrounds.

In free time, Miwa enjoys hiking, gardening, Zumba, and spending time with friends, family, and her dog Luna.
