Grove School Health Center Welcomes New Director

April 18, 2018

We are pleased to announce some updates for our Health Center and Clinical Department.  Terri Laggis, who had been serving as the Health Center Director, has transitioned to a clinical role of providing therapy and medication management for students.  Giving Terri the opportunity to focus on her expertise of wholistic, therapeutic care for students and their families brings a new energy to our clinical department. Terri is a great asset to our community and we are fortunate to have her here in a new capacity.

In February, we welcomed Erin Roberts, BSN, MSN, FNP-BC, as our new director of the Health Center.  Erin recently relocated to the shoreline from Marlette, Michigan, a small crop-farming community in the “Thumb” of the state where she was born and raised on a farm.

As an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner in private family practices and hospitals, Erin has served patients of all ages and at all stages along the Health-Illness continuum.  She believes in proactive, health promotion and says, “The adage ‘an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure’ is so true! Staying healthy has to do with knowing your risks and making lifestyle changes. Much of the time, these changes are very minor, yet they have the power to change someone’s future.”

Erin brings a strong work ethic and collaborative spirit to the Health Center. She lives just a few miles from campus with her husband and three active school-age children.  Erin is an avid athlete and loves watching and coaching sports, especially basketball.  She is excited to be a part of Grove and to work with the staff and students to improve the health of our community.

One of Erin’s exciting new initiatives is to introduce an online student database for managing all medical forms and paperwork.  Grove parents should look for an information packet via email about our collaboration with Magnus Health Student Medical Record.  We also have the link to Magnus Health on our website.
