Music

Grove School’s music program has been emerging since 2015 when the first choir was introduced.  The programs mission is to enrich the lives of students by bringing them a quality musical education that meets the National Standards of Music Education.  Students are encouraged to foster their passion for music with a variety of academic and extracurricular activities such as; individual study, ensembles, community service, community events, and attending professional events.

The music department offers different academic classes each trimester.  Choir is offered each trimester as well an instrumental group such as a jazz band or pit orchestra.  Students from these groups perform each trimester in different events on campus and in the community.  Other classes that have been offered include Music Theory Fundamentals, Beginner Ukulele, Intermediate Ukulele, World Drumming, Music History, History of Rock and Roll, and we are proud to announce that AP Music Theory will be offered this year.

Grove also offers different extracurricular music activities for students.  Students can attend and perform in our on campus coffee house (acoustic open mic night), attend live performances of different genres, sing at the local nursing home, and starting this year join Tri-M Music Honor Society.  Students also have the option to set up private music lessons from local teachers in the area.
