Psychopharmacology

Each person’s biology, i.e. the sum total of one’s genetic, environmental and physiological influences, affects him/her individually and in turn his/her effect upon others.  Accurate diagnosis is crucial; a willingness to revisit and reconsider diagnoses posits that accurate diagnosing is not a static process.  Effective medication intervention follows a thoughtful and careful diagnostic formulation and is not simply based on the presenting symptoms. Students have their medications constantly evaluated by our five staff presscribers, and it is just as likely that a student’s medication will be lowered or discontinued as it is to be maintained or initiated.
