John has been working at Grove since May 2015 and comes to us from Quincy, MA.  While playing on the baseball team at St. Lawrence University, John also studied Government and Education.  He holds his certification in 7-12 Social Studies Teaching and has been working towards obtaining his Masters in Special Education.  John initially started as a Teacher/Dorm Counselor, living in the Perlman for two and a half years before accepting a promotion as a Residential Administrator.  John loves to work with the students daily and especially enjoys coaching the baseball team and getting to see the kid’s success both on and off the field.  The best part about the job, according to John, is to see the students understand who they are and what their true potential is, regardless of their past experiences.  Growing up with a sister with special needs helped John develop the patience and grit that is necessary for our students to succeed.  When John is not working, he can usually be found watching a baseball game or walking with his dog in the woods.
