Social Studies

The Social Studies Department at Grove School is committed to helping students develop a civic responsibility as well as a cultural appreciation. Social Studies classes cover a variety of topics in US History, Global Studies, Cultural and Social Issues.  The department promotes critical thinking through analysis of primary sources and develops students’ ability to formulate and support positions on historical and current topics.

  • Topics in Psychology

    Grades: 11, 12

    In this introductory course in Psychology, students will consider the development of the individual and personality, and how knowledge, methods, and theories of this discipline are applied to the explanation of human behavior. The study of psychology is based on a historical framework and relies on effective collection and analysis of data. The course will strongly emphasize human development, elements of learning, motivation, basis of behavior, personality, social psychology, and careers in psychology.
