Liz Allard O’Connor

Liz brings energy, creativity, and a passion for experiential learning to her roles as residential administrator, advisor, and Social Studies teacher. Since returning to Grove in 2021, she has become known for creating memorable experiences that bring students together—from founding Grove’s annual Winter Olympics Weekend in 2022 to serving as technical director for school musicals and plays, to leading Alternative Site Therapeutic Educational Experience trips to Washington, DC.

Liz first joined Grove in 2017 as dorm staff and teacher after earning two bachelor’s degrees in History and Education (magna cum laude) from Keene State College. She left to pursue her master’s degree in History & Archivist Studies from Keene State, graduating summa cum laude in 2022, before choosing to return to Grove.

In the classroom, Liz teached Social Studies, specializing in Holocaust & Genocide Studies, creating lessons that challenge students to think critically about history and its relevance today. She loves working with teenagers and values the blend of academic and residential work that allows her to know students in multiple contexts.

Liz enjoys reading, theater, video games, and traveling. She brings the same enthusiasm to her hobbies that she brings to her work—always looking for the next engaging experience.
