Grove Students Give Back

06/26/26

At Grove School, caring for others is more than a value we talk about. It is something our students put into practice. Two recent initiatives led by student organizations show just how much heart this community has.

Student Council Raises Funds for the JED Foundation

Grove’s Student Council recently launched a school merchandise webstore, and when it came time to decide where the proceeds would go, students did not hesitate. They chose the JED Foundation, an organization whose mission is deeply connected to the work we do every day at Grove.

Founded in 2000 by Phil and Donna Satow after the loss of their son Jed to suicide, the JED Foundation has grown into one of the country’s leading nonprofits focused on protecting the emotional health of teens and young adults. JED’s work centers on equipping individuals with skills and knowledge, strengthening school mental health systems, and mobilizing communities to take action around youth mental health. For a student body that understands firsthand how important mental health support can be, the choice to support JED felt personal and purposeful.

National Honor Society Collects Hygiene Products for Those in Need

Grove’s National Honor Society chapter is spearheading a hygiene product drive to assemble kits that will be donated to individuals in need at a local shelter. Items such as soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other personal care products make an enormous difference in the daily lives of people who need them most, and our NHS students are committed to meeting that need.

There is still time to contribute. If you would like to donate hygiene products to this effort, please reach out to Matt Janes at   matt_janes@groveschool.org for more information on how to participate.

We are proud of these students for stepping up and looking outward. This is Grove at its best.
