Treatment Philosophy
At Grove School, the foundation of our treatment philosophy lies in the concept of the therapeutic milieu, where each interaction and relationship provides the potential for healing.
Recognizing that all human interactions convey messages—whether intentional or unintentional, verbal or behavioral, explicit or implicit—understanding these communications is central to our therapeutic community. At Grove, there exists a constant interplay between individual responsibility and community engagement, underscoring the importance of social responsibility in mental health.
Our aim is to foster self-validation in our students, encouraging emotional authenticity and the ability to maintain meaningful connections with others. Grove provides a safe environment where students can confront their anxieties and fears, such as rejection or embarrassment, while gaining insight into their own behaviors and motivations.
Honesty, courage, moral integrity, consideration for others, self-respect, and commitment to personal growth form the bedrock of our community. These principles guide individual, group, and family therapy sessions, shaping social responsibility and staff interactions.
Grove’s approach to psychotherapy is multifaceted and contextually based, recognizing individuals’ existence within various realms, including biological, interpersonal, and societal contexts. Under the umbrella of the therapeutic milieu, we integrate clinical, academic, residential, and family components into a unified whole. Our clinical team includes APRNs, psychologists, clinical social workers, professional counselors and marriage and family therapists. Grove offers intensive individualized psychotherapy alongside family and group therapy sessions.
