Dawn Clark, MS, CCC-SLP

Dawn Clark earned her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Child Development—with a double minor in both Program Administration & Curriculum Development and Family Studies—from Humboldt State University. Dawn began her career working in Birth to Three as an Early Head Start Home Visitor. She then became Director of an Armed Services YMCA, Director of a Title IX Afterschool Program, and Youth Program Director of a sports club.

After moving to Connecticut, Dawn earned a Master of Science (MS) in Communication Disorders—specifically Speech Language Pathology—from Southern Connecticut State University. She worked in a traumatic brain injury clinic and specialized in cognitive therapy and executive functioning, integrating patients into safe, independent daily living. Dawn spent 5+ years working in nursing homes/sub-acute care facilities assisting patients with their cognitive, communication, and swallowing skills. Dawn thoroughly enjoyed her time in the medical sector, but she missed working with students and families and made the shift back to education in 2018. Dawn holds an Initial Educator Teaching Certificate for the state of Connecticut. She has worked in multiple school districts along the CT shoreline, serving preschool through college-age students, providing articulation, language comprehension, social communication, transgender vocal/communication, and executive functioning services.

Dawn has always enjoyed being of service and helping students and families all over the country, including Alaska, California, Virginia, and Connecticut. She has worked at Grove School since September 2021 and continues to provide speech services to children and families through her private practice, Coastal Speech Services. When Dawn is not working, she enjoys spending time with her two sons, exercising, being on the water or the beach, gardening, and making pottery.
