Emma Ciervo

Emma serves as a Residential Administrator and English Teacher at Grove, where she also co-facilitates the National Honor Society. Originally from New Britain, Connecticut, she came to Grove in 2023 as a Teacher and Counselor in the Emmerich and Olshin dorms, and was promoted to Residential Administrator in summer 2025. Emma brings a relational approach to her work, believing that meaningful teaching and mentorship happen when students feel genuinely known and valued.

Emma comes from a large family of helpers and healers, and that foundation shapes how she shows up for students every day. She finds deep meaning in serving others and in creating spaces where students feel safe to grow, explore their creativity, and discover their strengths. Her background in English allows her to share her own love of reading and writing with students, and she brings that same creative energy to everything she does, whether it’s in the classroom, in the dorms, or through her work with the National Honor Society.

Emma earned both her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in English from the State University of New York at New Paltz. When not working, Emma enjoys reading, crafting, cooking, and traveling. She brings the same thoughtfulness and care to her personal interests that she brings to her relationships with students and colleagues.
