Matthew Moran
Matt has been working at Grove since January of 2020 and comes from Seymour, CT. Prior to working at Grove, Matt attended Southern Connecticut State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Secondary Education, and Southern New Hampshire University, where he earned a master’s degree in English Literature. He holds a certification in 7-12 English Teaching and is currently working towards earning a second master’s degree in social work from Rutgers’ University.
Matt began his time at Grove as a Teacher/Counselor, working in the Patch and the Lodge for two and a half years before accepting a promotion to become a Residential Administrator. In this role, Matt works as the drama liaison for Grove’s musicals and plays, creates weekly activities for students, and helps coordinate community events. He is the proud co-founder of Grove’s staff musical, which brings the staff together through the joy of theater. In the classroom, Matt has taught each of our core English classes as well as several creative writing electives, bringing his love for storytelling and analysis to the classroom.
When Matt is not working, he loves baking, reading, crafting, theater, and spending time with his cat.
