Monique Richmond, LMSW
With over fifteen years of experience, Monique Richmond specializes in trauma-informed care and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. She developed an early fascination with human behavior and mental health struggles at a young age. This curiosity led her to pursue a bachelor’s in psychology and a Master of Social Work. It became her mission to help others heal from past trauma, and create authentic, unfiltered lives.
Originally from Mexico City, Monique brings a rich multicultural perspective and fluency to her practice. She’s able to bridge linguistic and cultural gaps, making therapy accessible and affirming for everyone.
At the core of Monique’s work is the conviction that every story deserves to be heard. She holds a strong belief that we are not our trauma. What happened to us does not define us, and we’re always one thought away from happiness!
Monique empowers clients to identify and reframe negative, self-defeating thoughts with more beneficial ones. She provides insight into how our thoughts, feelings and behaviors directly influence the quality of our life. By continuously reframing unhelpful thoughts, we essentially rewire our brains.
Monique lives by the philosophy that we’re all worthy of happiness, love and peace. We’re more resilient than we know and hold the capacity for growth and transformation. Healing from past trauma is possible with the right set of coping skills, self-compassion and self-awareness. Monique encourages clients to give themselves grace because sometimes the road to feeling better isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it!
